Pearls are always a perfect accessory to add to any boudoir photoshoot.
Avoid these Boudoir Faux Pas During your Session
Fake Tan/Bad Tan Lines/Sunburn – Especially during the Summer holidays, take extra care with your tan lines. Natural tan is great as long as you don’t over do it. Sunburn and peeling skin is a major boudoir faux pas and is never a good look. Watch out for strap lines as well. Another faux pas. Also avoid spray tans at all cost, as they tend to photograph poorly. Your skin will look orange and un-even. Plus, you’ll be amazed how many people turn up with streaky palms from badly applied fake tan. Honestly, this is our biggest bug bear and so difficult to clean up in photoshop. We know you love the tanned look but there’s a reason why models don’t use fake tan. It’s actually easier to add a more natural looking sun kissed look in photoshop than from the bottle.
Choosing the wrong sized outfits – Choose lingerie that is just the right size for you. Have a bra fitting. Most women in the UK wear the wrong size bra. You don’t want loose lingerie that gives your body no shape or hides your beautiful curves but neither do you want lingerie that fits too tightly and pinches the skin.
Stockings – make sure your stockings fit and don’t pinch your thighs. Hold ups can be fine but ensure the rubber grips fit properly. We prefer hold ups rather than stay ups. They tend to fit better.
Iron the day before – Don’t turn up with too many creases in your outfits. Imagine these outfits are meant to impress in the best possible way. A little time before your shoot will pay massive dividends.
Getting tipsy at your session – If you are nervous about your session, it’s OK to have a glass of wine to rest your nerves. That said, don’t get wasted. This is one of the worst things you can do. Your eyes will be blood shot and you’ll lose focus. Honestly, our suggestion is to save the booze till after your session. (Or enjoy it at the viewing)
Forgetting to shave/wax – Always remember to shave or wax any exposed area that needs to looks smooth and sexy.
